I like to keep up with the newest trends; fashion, celebrities, music, shows, everything really. One trend I couldn’t help but take notice of was the “Zoey Bangs” that Zoey Deschanel sports in her show “New Girl”. (Which, by the way, I LOVE!) Since I have blonde hair I wasn’t so sure I could pull it off but, soon enough I saw my fellow blondes cropping up with gorgeous new hair cuts….and BANGS!

These gorgeous ladies are smokin hot with bangs and I am super excited I went through with my new do’. It just goes to show that sometimes when you step out of your comfort zone, wonderful things can happen! Now I just need our Trish McEvoy expert to show me how to complete my look with a smoky cat eye…can’t wait for April 6th!

Make Up Makeover with Trish McEvoy

So this year, not only did I want to spruce up my Spring wardrobe but, my make-up regime too! Why, not? All of the merchandise we have in is AMAZING and I’ve gotten so many great things but my make-up regimen needs an overhaul. As I started talking about this amongst my friends, I found they were all feeling the same way too! Well, what better way to change things than with an expert? I called on my friends at Trish McEvoy to help not only myself out with my new make-up journey, but all of my RT ladies who are feeling the need for some expert make-up tutelage to freshen up their look. Leather Bound

One of my very favorite brands when I started working at Rosie True almost 10 years ago was Calleen Cordero. I still have shoes from her that are so incredible, even after all these years! I was ecstatic when we saw her small leather clutches and handbags at market in NYC this past January. The artisan craftsmanship is evident in the handcrafted stud work and textured leathers. Now they have arrived in-store and I am drooling over every piece!

Seriously in hearts with the Jordana Handbag….she may have to come home with me!

Springtime is here, and that’s my favorite time of year!

Color makes me happy so with all the beautiful new things coming in each day I can’t help but smile!

I have noticed a trend in the store that I wanted to shed some light on. In my last post, I professed my undying love for Spring and all of the vibrant colors that come with it. While all of that still holds true ( I LOVED Tenley’s montage of Tangerine Tango!), I feel as though I did not give enough attention to a main component of my spring wardrobe, white. I’ve noticed that even the mention of that color, especially in denim, gives some of you anxiety. I used to be the same way. But I’m here to tell you, you have nothing to fear! It’s beautiful, clean, crisp, and can make you feel oh so good! Take it from my best friend, Sadey. She lives in white

What a great way to start spring cleaning too! I want a fresh outlook and attitude this year and I couldn’t be more inspired by the novelty of white. Luckily, our friends from CP Shades, Calypso, Paige Premium Denim, and AG have made it so easy to get into the white mood!

Whether you’re not quite ready for the hot hues of spring, looking for a fresh start, or just want to find beauty in the simplicity of it all, I encourage you to embrace our white out. Mine started with a quote that I saw while flipping through one of our Compendium books, reminding me to “Believe” :

Happy New Year, all!

So according to the Pantone Color Institute, 2012′s color of the year is Tangerine Tango: “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. And with spring basically here, I am ready to embrace this doctrine: add more color!

Add a little color, get a lot of J O Y!

No matter where you’re off to, there’s a way to add a dash of brightness and spice up even the most casual of days.

A little inspiration…

As I was going through some drawers in our office I stumbled upon some vintage Rosie True pictures. These are from the very early days when Angie had just opened her first location in San Marco. It was so fun to see how things were over 12 years ago, and used that as a bit of inspiration in our newest store display.

I love merchandising and look for inspiration for new ideas in many forms. It can be as simple as a piece of jewelry, a scarf, or even a few old photos. My hope is that my displays will, in turn, inspire you.

Is it just me, or is anyone else ready to move on from this season we’ve been calling “winter”? Now I’ve tried to be patient. I’ve exhausted my Wooden Ships sweaters and beanie, Tulle coat, AG cords, you name it! But I’m done pretending this season is going to make an appearance. Thank you Groundhog Phil, but I respectfully reject your forecast.
Spring is here at Rosie True!! And my word this spring is VIBRANT!

I love this Gypsy 05 hi low top! It makes such a BOLD statement while still maintaining a casual elegance. After I put it on, I realized I just couldn’t get enough of the hot pinks and oranges! I tried on several of the new fedoras we just got in by Christys’ London, but my spring fever would not permit me to choose anything less vibrant than the magenta colored one! I love it! To complete my look, I decided to throw an arm party…for two. I mixed and matched our brightest and best from Chan Luu, Tai, Maria Rudman, and threw in some sparkle for a little added glamour.

A very special thanks to one of our favorites, Louise Johnson and In the Garden, for helping us live the bright life with this gorgeous array of spring blossoms!!
