Colombian-born designer Paola Buendia and her husband, Mark Donovan, founded wooden ships in 1992 after a four-month trip to Bali. The couple met as undergraduates at Harvard. “Every piece we make is custom made…we pay tremendous attention to detail and our knits have a slouchiness that makes them immediately casual,” says Paola. Today, Paola, Mark and their three sons live in Bali where they design and manufacture their collection.
Why we love: Lightweight knitted hats, sweaters and scarves keep us snuggly warm and glamorous all winter long.
